Step 1 of 3Helping Pueblo homeowners
Pueblo homeowners often have something many buyers elsewhere don’t: a home that is paid down or nearly paid off. That makes a missed tax payment, a reverse mortgage problem or an inherited house worth taking seriously — there is real equity to protect. We work across Pueblo, from Bessemer and the East Side to Belmont and Pueblo West.
How the foreclosure clock works in Pueblo County
Colorado forecloses most homes through the county Public Trustee. In Pueblo County, that is the Pueblo County Public Trustee (run by the County Treasurer’s office). The Pueblo County Public Trustee’s office is at 215 W. 10th Street, Room 104, in Pueblo.
- Notice of Election and Demand. The lender files it with the Public Trustee — this is the “Notice of Default” that makes the foreclosure public.
- Sale date set. For most homes the sale is scheduled 110 to 125 days after recording (215 to 230 days for agricultural property).
- Court order. The lender must get a court order authorizing the sale (a Rule 120 hearing) before it can happen.
- Your cure deadline. File a Notice of Intent to Cure at least 15 calendar days before the sale and pay by noon the day before.
Dates can move when sales are postponed, so always confirm your file with the Public Trustee. See the full Colorado foreclosure timeline →
